According to speedtv.com, McLaren is talking to Renault in the hopes that they'll release Alonso from his contract so that he can drive for McLaren as soon as possible........there's also a rumor floating around NA motorsports that Honda Racing has invited IndyCar Series driver Marco Andretti to test their RA106 at Jerez on the 15th of December in recognition of his achievements in 2006(IRL rookie of the year, winning at Infineon, finishing 2nd in the 500....).

Both are actually true mlittle!!
There was supposed to be a meeting between Whitmarsh and Briatore (would have been at the FIA prize giving gala I would imagine) where Whitmarsh was going to request the early release of Alonso so that he can take part in the last test of the season. We don't yet know if Briatore has agreed or not.
As for Marco, that has also been confirmed by Honda. He will be driving on the final day.
We will add more info soon.

Rumors are flying everywhere.
Latest and greatest:
Hamilton will move to Spyker to make room for Hakkinen to join McLaren. It is known that Toro Rosso is interested in Hakkinen as well.
I strongly doubt McLaren would think of making such a bad decision at this point. On the other hand I find it hard to believe that Hakkinen would be okay racing with anything less than McL, if he comes back that is. I guess it all boils down to Hakkinen remaining retired or not, and I think he is perfectly fine where he is now. Make room for young'uns

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. - Douglas Adams (1952-2001)

Can't imagine him coming out of retirement but then I don't think he ever said that he wouldn't..... and it would make sense of the testing.gkaytaz wrote:Rumors are flying everywhere.
