Why is Schuey doing 120+ laps in an old car? Are Ferrarri developing 3 cars
for 05 ? Am I getting paranoid about paranoia ? Please let it be a close season, or its F1 boats for me.

Michael was tyre testing and I suspect they don't have the second F2004M ready yet.
Keep in mind that Ferrari are the only top team running Bridgestones. They've got to do all the testing.

But Schumacher's time isn't even quick. What are you worried about ?

I know so many years of domination and one thinks they'll never be beaten. They will be beaten!
Actually Ferrari's performance at the end of last year wasn't that great and yet they are still starting with the old car. Some of the other teams stopped developing their cars and concentrated on this year.
The times are very encouraging.

Had a bit of a laugh reading some of the quotes from the different teams (thanks guys for having all those reports)

Trulli (when was asked how the car was performing)
"Our best times compared quite favourably with the others, but there are still some problems with consistency over longer runs"

Perhaps the problem is with the driver

Andrew Alsworth (BAR)
"We have a few reliability issues to sort out and are confident that these can be addressed during the next few tests"

Sure they'll drop the revs on that grenade

Funny the guy from Honda says "looking forward to putting the engine through its paces at a different style of circuit next week in Jerez"

But Jerez is a quiker circuit .... more grenades going off!!

Norbert Haug (McLaren) "I wouldn't read too much into the lap times"

Now Graham will get worried !!!

Apparently the problem with the McLaren on the first day was due to some interference with the circuit timing.
"Pedro's first day of testing in MP4-20 was affected by problems with the car's systems, caused by embedded time apparatus at the Valencia circuit."

Very sensitive. I hope Ferrari don't build something to intefere with the McLaren

And What's up with Webber ?

Personally i don`t take much notice at all about test times. History has shown more often than not, that test times don`t translate to race form very often.

Let`s just see what happens come race day...

True, testing is just that. Unless you are an insider, it is impossibe to tell what the teams are doing. But since the only action these days is testing, I enjoy reading the times and speculating!

Hey if the new car can go that fast, I'm happy and as I said before Montoya would be even faster

But I am worried about that embedded timing apparatus.

BBC news today quoted Trulli as saying that" the Toyota was quick, but chews up its tyres", ... not good with the new regs

That's interesting. Gascoyne designed the Renault and it was gentle on tyres. Wondering what happened.

Or it may be just a case of Trulli getting confused again

According to Trulli , Gascoyne also designed the Jordan he drove, which was also a tyre shredder

Come to think of it, Gascoyne must like Trulli. They've been together at Jordan, Renault and now Toyota .... and if the Toyota is slow both will be kicked out next year together with Ralfie of course

I hate waiting for the next test

Gascoyne has an excellent record (just look at Renault) so he'll get it right and I have a strong feeling that Toyota will be the surprise of the season. How about 4 red cars in the top 4

Trulli and Ralf need some TLC, they never had it

Pedro de la Rosa McLaren 1:18.554 75
Fernando Alonso Renault 1:18.676 123
Nick Heidfeld Williams 1.18.807 99
Mark Webber Williams 1:18.987 81
Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1.19.220 39
David Coulthard Red Bull Racing 1:19.366 42
Luca Badoer Ferrari 1:19.724 62
Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 1:19.842 86
Chritian Klien Red Bull Racing 1:19.975 51

Sauber fast but JV slow :?

Wonder what's going on

Sauber and Toyota fastest! The others weren't going for times I suspect.

They'll turn up the heat tomorrow!
