The hardest, most egocentric man in F1 now,....... Lewis Hamilton, .....Denis, hast thou clutched a Viper to thy Bosom?

Julian: aren't you just a little hard on Lewis? This is his eleventh (that's 11th) G.P. and he is leading in the WDC points. His team mate (that's the other fellow in his racing TEAM!!) pulls a genuine Michael Schumacher on him and he (Lewis, that is) doesn't even make the slightest nasty remark when the press is all over him. Everything he says is supportive of the team; he directs all questions to the team. And HE's the viper?

I give the lad TDOD; he did everything expected of a champion and was being pressured by a very good driver. Meanwhile the [current] WDC was in the enviable position of not having to worry about either his car or his position; on a circuit where everyone agrees overtaking is almost impossible, he was able, after overtaking two excellent machines, to throttle back and save his engine for Turkey.

I expect to see Fernando on the top step in Instanbul and I expect him to earn it, too.

Alas for the red cars! Now everyone can see what it meant that Michael assembled a team for his campaign! Without Ross Braun, the racing team is a bunch of bumbling idiots. This was a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY for Ferarri to slam McLaren ... and they managed NOTHING. If it weren't for Kimi's ability and coolness, they would have achieved even less!!

Anyway, time for a good rest in the hot sun of August.

Hambone was repeatedly asked during Qualifying, by the team to switch places with Alonso,
for whatever reason, he ignored team instuctions.
The following took place at the post race media conference....
Tony Dodgins, Autosport,
"Lewis, is it correct that you personally went and asked the Stewards to investigate the qualifying incident yesterday?"
"No, I was downstairs and one of the stewards was there but we didn't really discuss it"

I was expecting the Hungarian GP to be boring as it has been (mostly) the case in the past. Not the best circuit around.

Anyway, I agree with JM's remarks.

Nick did a fantastic job.
Sato wasn't bad either.
Yamamoto was the usual Spyker guy
Trulli was truly a disaster.
Hondas are beyond words. Rubens' radio conversation says it all; he was going all out to no avail. The car won't budge.
Fisi has gotta go before Flav kicks him out.
RedBull definitely needs a new strategy.
Wurz was pathetic.

All in all probably the worst race of the season. Can't wait for Istanbul.

I don't think Hamilton is the nice guy he like us to think he is. I've read a few quotes by Hamilton and it is enough to tell me that he is well groomed for public statements but what he actually does is different. In other words he has two faces.

I already made my comment on comparing Alonso to Michael, not sure if you have read that Jim. Most of the times I don't disagree with you but I strongly disagree on this one. Hamilton is the one who started this, sadly it shows that it was Alonso who played dirty but it was a reaction (a bad one yes but nevertheless it was a reaction and didn't initiate it).

What really worries me now is that Alonso has lost trust in Hamilton and given that he isn't getting the support he expects in the team things are most likley going to get ugly. He and the team have been tricked by Hamilton, it may give Dennis a wake up call and show him that his support for Hamilton has backfired big time. We'll see but I am now starting to beleive that Alonso will not stay at McLaren for much longer. They can enjoy their Hamilton

Regardless, Alonso will be on fire.

As for the race, I think Raikkonen and Alonso drove really well but Alonso managed to actually overtake so I gave him the Driver of the Day. The driver, the teams, the FIA all complain about the dirty air disturbing the car when you are chasing and there is Alonso managing to sustain that and keep the pressure. (Raikkonen seems good at that too).
I think there were too many hopeless drives/cars to mention but I think there should be a rule dissallowing pathetic drivers to race, drivers like Yamamoto should NOT be in F1 and cars like the Honda should withdraw after the warmup lap until they sort their car out. I mean Barrichello was last or something like that!!
Oh and I really don't know what Massa was doing ?

I haven't seen qualifying but was Raikkonen really that close to Hamilton and Alonso ? I can't beleive the excuse that Hamilton was worried Raikkonen would pass him too. To me that is just rubbish, he wanted to make a point. If there is a triple thumbs down I would give him that, but he will end up losing anyway, from within the team it will leave a bad taste and more importantly he has given Alonso a strong reason not to trust him.

Pretty stupid move, from now on, he can only blame himself.

Maybe we have not all seen the same race?

The race itself was not that boring IMO, some precise driving by great drivers, LEWIS my driver of the day for a controlled victory, just ahead of KIMI.

NICK did ok, but the strategy alomos cost him P3. FERNANDO did well after pulling of his pretty dirty trick in qualifying which was IMO much worse than anything seen from MICHAEL! who never did anything like this to his team mates. Ok, LEWIS didnt obey to team orders but I think he didnt hinder FERNANDO in any way by pulling away in Q3...he is a full blooded racer and I think he would deserve to become the first driver to become Champion in his maiden season. FERNANDO is surprisingly bad at handling a quick team mate, MICHAEL could live much better with pressure..

ROBERT and particularly RALF were faultless while NICO was on the wrong strategy just like everybody doing 1 or 3 stops.

FELIPE was pretty much disappointing for the whole weekend, it seems now KIMI is emerging as FERRARIs No.1 finally..
