I repeat, Michael will retire at the end of the season.

The Ferrari will struggle and so will Bridgestone.
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

Keep on repeating. You can't change what he does.
Of course you may want him too. But not nearly as much as I want JV to bugger off and let someone with half a chance drive the BMW.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

What we say doesn't influence what they do. It is more of what we think they will do.

Michael will bugger off when he finds out in Bahrain that he is a midfielder

Unless he gets sick of subsidising (rumour) his brother's paypacket and takes a Toyota seat for umpteen million dollars as a pre-retirement package

Ahh, in that case fine. But JV will bugger off because everyone KNOWS he is a chicane.

Without tring to throw high octane on the fire, the Boss of BMW refused to answer the question on JV's watertight contract/ multi megabuck buyout. If it was not an issue, why not say so ? (interview in this months F1Racing mag).
As it is he leaves one with the impression it is the only reason JV is in the team. I do not think this is fair to JV or JayVee

There is no denying that this is make or break year for JV as it is for a few other drivers too.

He is up against Heidfeld who has yet to be beaten by any of his past teammates including Raikkonen and Webber.
JV will not just match Heidfeld but be ahead of him in the points proving that in the right environment JV is one of the top drivers in F1.

I know the Heidfeld link with BMW, etc... but when JV delivers results that is all what BMW wants.

Of course I could be wrong and Heidfeld beats JV but I've rarely been proven wrong :D

Also worth noting that JV was Massa's teammate who now moves to Ferrari. Now (in the hope that) Massa will be a rebel at Ferrari, he will beat the highly rated by some but old Michael and that will also give you some idea of how good JV is.

Of course I could be wrong and Massa may turn out to be another helper but ....

oh never mind, I don't want to make Kapel too angry on a Monday :D

has someone here forgotten how good the williams of '97 was?

Post by schmorbraten » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:15 am

:excuse: :maths:
jv only did manage something (ok, a world title ...) in 1997 when his williams was just unbeatable. he would even look slow if he was in a team together with sato, let alone being the very talented little nick's teammate.

out after 2006 will be:
JV 100 % (except if he gets the job of bernd maylaender)
RS 50 % - :offtopic: RS not being with TOYOTA anymore : 90 %
FM 25 %
:offtopic: 90 % that MW will leave Williams because they fall out with each other (ok, this doesn't really belong here, but I thought ... well, never mind)
MS 50 % - MS not being with Ferrari anymore : 60 %. he could make REALLY big money with a lot of other teams, because they think he would help them immensely. and he (or mr weber, for that matter) haven't been what one could call thick when it comes to making $$$.
JT 25 %

DC will stay. he's just too good keeping it on the road, has lots of experience and is a really nice guy to work with. dietrich mateschitz is only putting some pressure on his drivers now because he thinks this is upping the sporty atmosphere in his camp. it doesn't, but it shows everyone he's a guy for the media blah blah. which doesn't mean i think he is doing a bad job. buying 20 % of the grid (before SA stepped in) in (roundabout) just one year is surely gonna pay off, at least away from the track.

JPM will have lots of contracts to choose from, Llllloyd (no no, the spelling hasn't got anything to do with  ) if he doesn't line up on the 2007 grid, it will only be because he thinks he wouldn't have a car to win races with.

mark my words!

Interesting and quite fiesty  schmorbraten

But JV was a very successful CART champion Indy 500 winner and when he came to F1 he put his car on pole for the very first race. Damon Hill could never be accused of being slow. JV also drove like he meant it taking risks that no other driver was prepared to take. He was almost always the first to take a bend flat with very dramatic consequences more often than not. If he were given a competive drive he would amaze us all I am sure. Anyway I don't think F1 without JV would be quite the same, what would we talk about Jarno Trulli's hair perhaps.

keep up the post, be brutal if you think it helps :duel:
but watch out some of the guy's in here don't just bark they'll rip your leg off given half a chance

I can definitely see JV going, not because he deserves to but because I dont think BMW wanted him in the first place and I cant see anyone else picking him up.

DC I think will stay one more year and I would have said MS was likely to go until about 1 1/2 hours ago, not at all sure now!

Sato? Well, he probably ought to go but how closely is he tied in with the supply of Honda engines ?

RS should have gone about 3 years ago in my view!

Oh, and Davidson should be in!

:good:
DC will stay, because Newey needs him as a sounding board for the ongoing development, plus he is still bloody quick, and bloody tough.
For the rest, I concur
