I think that is a bit harsh. He is better than Sato and one can only compare a driver against their team-mate (with the exception of Ferrari you know the usual disclaimer   )

Many drivers in F1 have "yet" to do something to impress 8)
Sato should not be compared to anyone. He is in a world of his own. Thats why he hits other cars. Button is the one going around saying he is better than this driver, and faster than that driver. Others who, in your opinon "who are yet to impress" are just getting on with the job.

Agree with that but still think it is a bit harsh to say he has nothing to impress. How do you explain his overtaking in Spa ?
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

Comparing the Bar chassis to the Williams, for example, is like comparing a greyhound to a dachshound.

Oh come'on julian, Button didn't only overtake Webber. It takes skill to overtake in the wet!
Besides isn't the Williams a much improved car nowadays

I didn't see the race myself, I watched the times over the net. But Button's lap times were about 2-3 secs quicker when he overtook. It looked as though the wiliams stuggled a lot after pitstops. Once it settled down a bit, Webbers times we equal and sometimes faster than Buttons. It would seem the BAR was more consistent with its handling than the Williams.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Yes it does take skill to overtake in the wet. Webber proved it, by finishing fourth in a much improved pig. (and I quoted Williams AS AN EXAMPLE.)

Each to our own opinion, Fig  I say that the real reason Button is desperate to stay out of Williams is that he has publicly stated that he is better driver than Webber, and knows that Webber will simply drive away from him the moment they are in equal cars

Button overtook Webber when Webber's tyres were off just b4 he pitted. Saying Jenson is special because he beats Sato is a joke - Sato only has a seat due to Honda. Sato is fast but his race craft stinks.

The fact is, both are good drivers and I really hope to see them in a Williams next year - a Williams that can win!

PS - now that the poms have finally won the Ashes after 649 years, Jensen's bickering might die down.

Everyone is getting excited and we may not even see Button and Webber together

julian, did Button really say he is better than Webber ? When, how and why ?

Byron, I agree Sato is there because of Honda but you can't compare Button to anyone else this year.
In Spa he raced well and did most the overtaking I think and that can't be denied.
I do hope to see him up against Webber and I hope he gets beaten just to shut James Allen up. However I hope if he beats Webber people accept that too!

Webber proved what ? I didn't seem him overtake ? Perhaps he did but Button did more overaking. Does that mean he is more skilled ? (Just asking :D )

No you are not. You are displaying covert hostility in an attempt to inflame my ire and indulge yourself in the expected resultant tirade. Sorry to disappoint, but I, like Byron, can just tell he is a better driver than Button will ever hope to be.
