Massa definitely gets my DofD. He kept it all together regardless of the pressure applied to him by his team mate. Lewis was unlucky to get a puncture - hehehehehe - just glad he did not go off completely.
Alonso did well to come back from what was basically a very bad start. He looked happy on the podium.
This season is going down to the wire and not only with the racing but with the tipping.... at least in the F1 idiots group.

My DotD goes to Kovalainen. He drove well for the entire race distance an was harassing the championship leader as they crossed the finish line. No mistakes and consistant lap times throughout the GP.
Massa had the car to win, started from pole, and did exactly that.

I'll give it to Heikki, he drove a consistent race and deserves some credit for out performing his far more experienced team mate. Jenson had a good race from the back of the grid and deserves a mention too. As for McLaren I just want to know what was the rational for starting on the harder compound particularly in light of them starting on the dirty side of the grid?!! Lewis with significantly more fuel qualified only a fraction of a second slower than Felipe and then they go and through all of that hard work away by giving away another 3 tenths of a second down to turn one. I can only guess that they did it deliberately because they thought they would win the race too easily otherwise! It makes no sense to hand that kind of advantage away at the start of a race unless you are supremely confident that you will be able to overtake your opponent during the pitstops or on track. And no driver or team should have been that confident with the cars being as closely matched and aerodynamically challenged as they are.

Alonso The Cute was lucky hee hee!! But he feels it is just a small payback to what happened in Hungary

Good to see him smiling on the podium though

Alonso you must do something about those starts. But not to worry, a few more races and all the Hamilton hype will be something of the past :D

Massa was impressive, Hamilton was impressive (until he found a way to skin his tyre!), Kovalainen was impressive and Rosberg was impressive.
What was Kubica thinking going that light!!

I gave it to Kovalainen because he is starting to meet my expectations and he was chasing Hamilton.

We are seeing an excellent class of drivers and wouldn't it be great if Alonso, Massa, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Kovalainen, Rosberg were all in similar cars ? All young, all very competitive

Question: Why don't we get to listen to the team radios of all teams ? Why are Renault and maybe Honda and Red Bull the only ones ?
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

It certainly was nice to see Alonso smiling again. As for Hamilton, well I think we are starting to see a few chinks in the lad. Not quite perfect!!

Yes that was remarkably lax and a glaring error of judgement getting a puncture and only salvaging 5th place.

Folks

I'm sorry to admit that I was responsible for Hamilton's tire puncture, so he would end up in 5th, exactly as I predicted in 8 'n' Pole :D

I've been away from this Forum mainly because This season has been so boring... with the current aerodynamics you can rarely watch an overtake. It is all summarized in qualifying and strategy.

I'd like to see cleaner cars. It would do a lot of good to the sport.

IMHO Monza will be very important to the Ferrari team. I think the reds have the edge and the one who wins close to the tifosi will secure his place at the scuderia del cavalino rampante for 2008.

I hope Massa will repeat his flawless presentation.

Kudos to Kovaleinen though. Very consistent performance!
