Ed, I have three bits of goss which I was going to post...........(rifles thru 156cm stack of papers on desk, pistol whips children for getting them out of order, machine guns dawg with impotant paper in mouth) which i created this thread for, then Liz came over n....... but it was to do with Stryker, Doorknobs, broken contracts, Modesty Blaise.......
None about the 2nd McLaren driver
What about Christian Klien ?
Doornbos to race in 2007 ?
Renault livery to be strikingly similar to Stryker
We are being bombarded by junk email today, up around 200%
Now that was

Berger is a tad keen on the $us10 mill Doornbos can bring to the team, rather than having to tip some of his own money in......getting Doornbos would be at the expense of Speed, but the RedBull bosses are rather keen on having an American in the team.......it could get ugly behind the scenes

IIRC, autoracing1.com has mentioned that on their rumors page. According to them, Scott Speed has said that he will be back for 2007 based on him saying that he has a "watertight contract" to drive for Scuderia Toro Rosso(STR) in 2007. Now, based on what the ar1.com rumors page said, when Red Bull bought the then-Minardi F1 team, it was to be collaborative btwn. Red Bull magnate Dietrich Mateschitz and Gerhard Berger, as Mateschitz bought about a 50% stake in the Berger Group at the time. From what I've read(there and elsewhere), Red Bull
wants Speed to remain at STR for 2007(like Julian said in the above post, Red Bull wants an American with the team); Berger, who's looking for additional sponsorship for STR, wants to bring Robert Doornbos in(and the $10 million USD that Doornbos' would bring). What will happen......who knows?
My guess....unless Berger really needs the $10 million that Doornbos would bring, STR's lineup will stay at Liuzzi and Speed for 2007.
