Interesting F1 statistics (Least number of GPs to ....)

aabc01 wrote:Hey, Coronado, thank you for the useful information.

Could you enrich us giving the driver names of the ones who took less GPs to:

1) lead a race
2) win a race
3) do a pole
4) do a best lap
5) become world champion

Starting from the sixties (otherwise all question could be answered looking at the first championship statistics).
This is not a tease. I am really curious.

Emerson Fittipaldi

Post by aabc01 » Thu Oct 06, 2005 8:23 am

I may be wrong, but I missed Emerson Fittipaldi's name in some of the statistics:

1) he won for the first time at EUA, 1970, his 4th GP giving the title to Jochen Rindt who died 1 month before at Monza

2) he became world champion in 1972, his 3rd season

Fittipaldi opened the way to other Brazilian racers. He is one of the few racers that won the F-1 Championship (72-74) and the F-Indy (89).

Andre,

The stats above showed those drivers leading, winning pole, winning a race and winning the championship in their first race/season.
I have also listed some records for the current drivers.

You are correct about Emerson Fittipaldi, he won his first race on his 4th GP and won his first title in his 3rd season.
He also led his first race on his 4th GP, had his first Pole position on his 19th GP and had his first fastest lap on his 28th GP.
