Is Jenson really a great driver capable of winning a race or championship. I think the british media just keep making out he can win and challenge but he just cant. The british cant do like the finns!!!!

the british cant do it like the finns? are u stupid? what about stewart, moss, mansell, hill etc who do the finns have? hakkinen.
grrr :furious: slaggin off us brits for no good reason. even right now in F1 coulthard is more successful than kimi :P

Jenson is a pretty good driver, but i dont think good enough to justify the media attention. Although, I think he has as much chance as anyone given the right car. Sometimes he does show a bit of brilliance, but then we only have sato to compare him to. Next year will be his real test to prove what hes got.

Button is good but not great. He could win the championship in a dominant car.

The British media are making him great like how they make Coulthard, etc ....
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

The Brits are not overflowing with sporting heroes at the moment, and our media is no better when an Australian performs well.

I agree with you completely....I doubt if he would be able to win the championship in a car anything less than perfect.

For example, look at Alonso, he doesnt have the quickest car out there, yet he is about to win the championship (yes he is, Kimi is just too far away..) button wouldnt cope.....he is not as good as the press make him out to be (or as good as he thinks he is either)

In the first three-four races, at least, I considered the Renault to be easily the fastest car on the track.

In the first three or four races...yes, but there have been how many races since then that they have been outpaced....yet Alonso still manages to hold on...mainly through consistency.....Button is NOT consistent....(maybe last year he was...but this year...um...NO)

I think they are just giving JB far too much praises... :D they portray him like the best Racer.. well its not true... showering him with crappy praises..JB is far away from the best.. he may be quick last year. But not as quick as kimi n alonso... JB - can be big-headed i guess - due to the praises... lolx...

Jb has benn listening to the praises too much. It seems to me that whenever he talks he seems to forget that he has not yet won a GP, let alone a WDC.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Button should zip it, heh, heh. Hehas done nothing to impress. The reason he has value to a team is only to attract British sponsors. I think he will be one of those who show a lot of promise to start with, then fade into oblivion after a couple of years.

I think that is a bit harsh. He is better than Sato and one can only compare a driver against their team-mate (with the exception of Ferrari you know the usual disclaimer   )

Many drivers in F1 have "yet" to do something to impress 8)

Absolutely agree :D

Button's head grew 5 times after he was commentator on ITV and editor in F1 racing (during BAR's ban). Speaking to James Allen wasn't a good idea
