Briatore

Post by Julian Mayo » Wed Jul 13, 2005 7:38 pm

Briatore has just published a statement which basically, whislt praising Mad Max, forces Max into a corner. The gist of it , IMHO, is that there is no need to have a split," if we all sit down around a table like adults" and work things out. Briatore seems to be aiming at the Banks ( thanks Bernie  )
and saying , again IMHO, lets get things back under our control, so we can go back to enjoying our lifestyles, and making much dinero. However, Max could be classified as "collateral damage" ie., a civilian caught in the crossfire.
If he doesn't respond ? and if he does respond, but doesn't agree?
Aint life fun!!!!

IMHO ...a game of brinkmanship... come to the table and be seen to listen ( but if you don't agree with us...?) or if you don't come to the table .. the split is your fault
I see it as perfect timing by Briatore , and he is the only F1 person I would hesitate to play draw or 5 card poker with.

Yep, right about now I think Mad Max can feel the laser sight just above his eyes. Briatore is good, and I suspect that he and Stoddy have been playing "good cop, bad cop" with Max since Indy. Stoddy,I would play poker with, but only cos I know how he thinks, Briatore makes it up as he moves.

Ron Dennis and the Horner are meeting with Mad Max tomorrow, possibly as a result of Briatore putting Max in the spotlight. There seems to be a growing feeling in the English motoring media that reconciliation is inthe air. Possibly "new" evidence will be " found " exonerating the two teams. If not they will appeal to the Civil Courts, if need be, and the FIA does not seem to want that. The plot thickens.

I think it a good thing, that the two sides meet and try to work out some sort of common ground.

I have a very difficult time understanding how the penalties can be overturned at that meeting. Teh penalties were handed out by the Wolrd Council, would it not then be the Wolrd Council that have the power to overturn the penalties??

IMHO, the meeting is to decide what sort of "new evidence" could be found to
absolve the 2 teams, and not leave the FIA (Max) looking stupid ( or more stupid)

It is interesting what Briatore is saying. It seems that the teams can't agree with the banks so they want to go back to Bernie (better the devil you know!!).

It is good that meetings are finally taking place, lets hope hostilities end soon.

I agree with K-D that the guilty verdict won't be overturned (the penalties have yet to be decided remember   ) however it would be naive to think that Mosley can't influence the Court of Appeal. If he is happy they will be happy too
But I don't think this is such a big issue, Michelin are refunding the tickets and the teams offered to race again!
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

JV, if "new"evidence can be found to support the teams, no penalties will be have to be decided, everybody saves face. QED, IMHO
