2012 Formula 1 pre-season testing

On this thread we will provide you with all the information regarding the upcoming Formula 1 pre-season testing.

Currently, 3 tests are scheduled prior to the season opener in Melbourne

Jerez: 7 to 10 February
Barcelona: 21 to 24 February
Barcelona: 1 to 4 March

We will be providing commentary and results during those events.

As the events near, we will provide information regarding the teams taking part in the tests and the driver lineup

The first session of the 2012 pre-season testing gets underway today from 9 am Jerez time. We will be providing updates throughout the day.

10 teams are expected to join the session including Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Lotus, Force India, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Williams and Caterham.

All these teams will be running their 2012 spec cars. Mercedes are also testing at this session but will be running last year's car

Testing at Jerez is underway. A number of drivers have already set times.

Ricciardo - Toro Rosso - 1.24.681
Di Resta - Force India - 1.37.857
Rosberg - Mercedes - 1.41.939

Webber (Red Bull), Button (McLaren), Maldonado (Williams) and Kovalainen (Caterham) have yet to set times

Note that Rosberg in the Mercedes is in the 2011 car
