Round of the United States 2013 - picks and comments

Post by Thaddeus » Fri Nov 15, 2013 6:04 pm

Hope you don't mind me starting this topic. I got the e-mail reminding me to choose picks, and didn't want to wait :p

It's all guesswork, except for Vettel winning, obviously:

Winner: Sebastian Vettel
Second: Romain Grosjean
Third: Mark Webber
Fourth: Lewis Hamilton
Fifth: Nico Rosberg
Sixth: Fernando Alonso
Seventh: Jenson Button
Eighth: Nico Hulkenberg
Ninth: Felipe Massa
Tenth: Sergio Perez
Pole: Sebastian Vettel

I think it was a bit rough on Perez to essentially get fired with 2 days' notice, but that may fire him up. Not sure the car will help him excel, however.

The McLaren is in better form now than previously, and Checo has all reasons to pursue that last tenth.

Ferrari on the other hand seems on a downward slide.

From the first and second practice, Red Bull looks ahead, with Mercedes, Lotus and maybe Sauber close.

You have submitted the following picks:

Your Pick Post Date:2013-11-15 14:53:38 (-6 GMT)
Winner: Sebastian Vettel
Second: Mark Webber
Third: Lewis Hamilton
Fourth: Romain Grosjean
Fifth: Sergio Perez
Sixth: Fernando Alonso
Seventh: Kimi Raikkonen (that's Heikki Kovaleinen)
Eighth: Nico Rosberg
Ninth: Adrian Sutil
Tenth: Jenson Button - 3 places penalty on the grid
Pole: Sebastian Vettel

8) Well, b/c of the way the ten n pole is set up, I had to enter Kimi's name where I, obviously, wanted to put in fellow Finn Heikki K.

And, b/c the ten n pole is slow in confirming my picks, I don't remember for sure all my picks.

I did pick Seb to make it eight in a row

and Hamilton & Rosberg to finish out the podium

My Racing Gods: Fangio, Vukovich; Senna & Mears --all racers all the time; graceful winners & generous in defeat, but never giving up!!

Sorry Jim!

With these replacements picking Kimi will score for you whatever the result Kovalainen has.

Not sure why the confirmation is slow, it should be instantaneous. Perhaps the mail servers where slow at the time!

Out of the running for the overall win, but still happy.
