Alonso has rejected a 5 yr deal with RedBull, who will offer him no less, a 3 yr deal with Renault, who say they will offer him no less. McLaren's door will "never' be open to him again, the only driver who will replace Massa at Ferrari, is Schuey, unless Schuey goes to McLaren, Alonso has no opportunity to test with Ferrari's "no driver aids" car. Looks like he may have to do a "Prost" 8)

The hearing for Renault is on next Thursday the 6th of December but I suspect that there will be an appeal. If the outcome is too leanient then McLaren will appeal and if it is too harsh then Renault will appeal and the appeal will most likely be in January.

Regardless where Alonso ends up, I doubt that he will be allowed to test any car before the end of the year. That would be a certain condition McLaren has placed on him to release him.

As for Alonso sitting out next season, I give that a 0% chance. Yes in theory there is only Renault, Toyota and Force India with vacant seats but any other team (except McLaren and perhaps Ferrari) would negotiate a way for Alonso to drive for them and the replaced driver to drive somewhere else. Lets not forget that despite all the tantrums that Alonso made at McLaren, his performance particularly during the latter part of the season given the complete lack of communication is seen as a positive rather than a negative by other teams.

hehe news from today's session is coming in and surprise surprise...

It was a bad day for Ralf Schumacher, who was driving for Force India for the first time. After an early mechanical failure cost him time, he then went off twice at the Angel Nieto corner.

The first time saw him drive through the gravel, but the second accident saw him clip the tyre wall. He was the slowest of the 20 drivers on-track.

hang it up ralfy boy
