Your predictions for the 2006 Season - Drivers' Title

Post by Ed » Fri Feb 03, 2006 5:43 pm

With the 2006 season getting nearer, let us see who you think will win the Drivers' Title this year.
Will Fernando Alonso manage to win his second title in a row ? Will Kimi Raikkonen finally win his title after coming second for two years ? Will Michael Schumacher make a great comeback and win the title for the 8th time ? Or will another driver take win it this year ?

Go ahead and vote then tell us who you voted for and how many points will the title winner score by replying to this thread. The closest will win a nice prize at the end of the season.
Voting closes on Friday the 10th of March.

(The list above is sorted according the 2005 results. If there are any other drivers you want added to the poll let us know)

For reference, the top 10 Drivers in 2005 and their points:
1. Alonso - 133
2. Raikkonen - 112
3. M Schumacher - 62
4. Montoya - 60
5. Fisichella - 58
6. R Schumacher - 45
7. Trulli - 43
8. Barrichello - 38
9. Button - 37
10. Webber - 36

My tip for Drivers champ is Fernando again in 06 but with a tighter spread of points and thus needing less wins. should get 102 points.

I think Alonso would take this years crown as well.
I hope it is a close fight & not a repeat of 2004 in Renaults favour for our sake.

Hope to see a 3-way-championship atleast this time

Alonso- 96 points
Michael - 88 points
Kimi - 86 points
Rubens - 72 points

As much as I would like to see a close fight, I am afraid Alonso The Cute will be miles ahead of the rest.

152 Points :D
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

Webber..96pts
Pablo.....95pts
Alonso....90pts
Shumi....84pts
Kimi.......80pts
Chello.....78pts
Trulli.......71pts

Is it maybe a bit too optimistic to want a championship this close on points?

How will the drivers' championship shake out at season's end......here's my picks...

Alonso...............127 pts.
Raikkonen..........125 pts.
Barrrichello.........88 pts.
M. Schumacher...79 pts.
Montoya.............60 pts.
Fisichella.............59 pts.
Webber...............42 pts.

-the reason Alonso and Raikkonen are so close in points is due to the factoring in of McLaren's reliability issues through the season vs. Renault
-Barrichello finishes ahead of M. Schumacher because......he will no longer have to help Schumacher and can now fight for wins and points as Honda's lead driver now

Of course, if this year goes anything like last year.......who knows what will happen? 8)

Monty is rumoured to be in quiet discussion with a French Car Maker currently in F1 about a seat for next year. Perhaps he doesn't share your belief

I have to believe that...otherwise what's the point? I spent my whole life supporting the Brits in F1, Indy Car, MotoGP :!: Hell I'm a patriot you can't hang me for that :?:  :help:

Now if there was a Jamaican in F1 I would have no doubt where my allegiance lies. Wait just one minute who's this hamilton guy I've been reading so much about :?: His quick, his black and heading for the pack :burnout: :ROTFLMAO:
