Last year was not too bad but the new system really sucks.

Best would be 3 flying laps per driver, not on the race tyres and without much fuel on board, maybe with up to 4 drivers on the track at the same time starting at a time gap of 20 seconds............

Anyway the new system makes for surprising grids.

who watches qualifying?

I don't think anyone will ever find a solution to peak interest in qualifying. (for ANY brand of racing).

They don't even show NASCAR qualifying on the major networks...

I think it is just the diehard fans who watch it.
