Re: The 2019 Chinese GP Thead
This weekend sees the return to Shanghai for the Chinese GP.
This will be retribution for the Monegasque Charles Leclerc and his Ferrari after being robbed of his first GP win.
Ferrari have identified the problem as a “short circuit within an injection control unit” and Leclerc will use this power unit again.
Probably the biggest disappointment was Sebastian Vettel for compounding the loss of position to Hamilton with a spin.
He would be closely followed by Valtteri Bottas' lack of performance following his brilliant win in Australia.
Team wise, the factory Renault team need to step up. They are being overshadowed by their customer team McLaren.
Red Bull have Max Verstappen on the pace but Pierre Gasly needs to adapt to this new chassis.
Haas and Racing Point's cars seem to have a small setup window. When they are on, they are on. When they are not, they are nowhere.
Toro Rosso are getting close to the pace while Alfa Romeo, particularly in the hands of Kimi Raikkonen, are towards the pointy end of the mid-field.
Williams have a good power unit but are hampered by chassis and aero problems. With Patrick Head coming back onboard, there may be some improvements however, he has been away from the game for sometime so it will take some time to get his head around these new toys.

Re: The 2019 Chinese GP Thead
Qualifying
Well, that was an interesting qualifying session.
Albon crashed at the end of FP3 and damage was too great to have the car repaired in time.
Giovinazzi had an installation problem with his Alfa Romeo and took no part in the session.
The two Haas took no part in Q3.
Both Red Bulls missed out on their final runs in Q3.
Sebastian Vettel, the forever opportunist, passed Max Verstappen entering the last straight before the start finish. This seemed to catch Verstappen by surprise with both the Renaults also taking advantage and raced towards the start finish line. Verstappen also turned into the final turn slowing Pierre Gasly's run and both Red Bulls arrived at the start finish line after the time had expired.
