Your predictions for the 2011 F1 Championship - Drivers

Post by Ed » Wed Mar 09, 2011 12:01 am

The 2011 season is about to start so let us see who you think will win the Drivers' Title this year.

Will Vettel win a second title or will it be Webber's turn. Can Alonso recover from a dissapointing final race of 2010 and win. What about Massa's chances ?
What about Hamilton in the McLaren and Button. And Rosberg and Schumacher in the Mercedes.

Renault look strong but can Heidfeld fill the shoes of Kubica ? Toro Rosso have been doing well in testing, can they be a surprise ?

There is the tyre factor and with claims that the tyres lose grip so quickly, it will be fascinating to see how the drivers will adapt to these new tyres.
There is also the adjustable rear wing and KERS!

We are once again set for a close season.

Go ahead and vote then tell us who you voted for and why. You can also add your predicted top 5 drivers in 2011

Voting closes on the Friday of the Australian Grand Prix.

(The list above is sorted according the driver numbers in 2011. If there are any other drivers you want added to the poll let us know)

For reference, here are the top 12 Drivers in 2010 and their points:
1. Sebastian Vettel - 256
2. Fernando Alonso - 252
3. Mark Webber - 242
4. Lewis Hamilton - 240
5. Jenson Button - 214
6. Felipe Massa - 144
7. Nico Rosberg - 142
8. Robert Kubica - 136
9. Michael Schumacher - 72
10. Rubens Barrichello - 47
11. Adrian Sutil - 47
12. Kamui Kobayashi - 32

Like this year's IndyCar Series season, this year is going to be a heck of a year for Formula 1 and I for one can't wait! 8)

So who did I vote for? *drumroll please................*
After looking at all the different drivers, I voted for Sebastien Vettel as my pick for WDC this year. 8) :burnout:

How about all other driver, I personally would like to see Paul di Resta and Kamui Kobayashi up there.

Backed Alonso.

The Ferrari and Red Bull both look very good, but Alonso is more reliable than Vettel.

Staggered more people think Schumacher will win the title than Vettel.

I think the Red Bull will get Vettel home again this year. He is the master of qualifying however the Pirelli factor could make things interesting.

That's the big wildcard this year...........whoever figures the Pirellis' out soonest could have an inside track on the championship.

I think Vettel is in the best position to win the championship (again).

Webber, Alonso and even Massa are other candidates.

In probably his last season, Webbo will have the elbows out.

Just had a thought, dang, that's two today
It will be the quickest thinker, not the quickest driver, who takes out the ch'ship this year. 8)

:D Well, Julian, I think I disagree with you. Fernando is [still] the quickest driver and will, this year, with a decent chassis under him and an engine that is reliable, DOMINATE the WDC. You won't see a repeat of last year's four or five chaps still in the running in October.

cheers, Jim Watt
