Its a worry how a foreign object can get jammed between the brake caliper and the wheel rim ? Did they forget a spanner ?

I recall one year DC had a loose screw or something in the cockpit during a race!!

It looks increasingly like we'll have a fight between McLaren and Renault this year

Well done to Renault. If they aren't showing their full potential, the other teams must be getting worried. The new car seems faster than the old one despite the rules

Would've been nice to see BAR at this test too!

To my way of thinking , this highlights how inconclusive testing results are, for those of us who don't know what the targets and goals of the teams are. The ferrari times are, from memory, ominously like last year. :wtf:

Sure testing is inconclusive but with lap details you can tell if the lap was on low fuel/new tires etc. Look at Fisichella, just half a second from the lap record and his time was at the end of a reasonable run.
What you can conclude from the times Renault have set at various testing tracks this year that their new car is faster than the old one which goes against what the rules aimed for and it tells us that they have made a huge leap forward.

Besides, there is no reason to beleive that Renault are showing their full potential while the others aren't. They are not after sponsors like some of the other teams

Don't recall Ferrari being this slow last year

I see McLaren very strong too and we could see a fight between those two teams. Wouldn't that be a nice change.

julian is still suffering from FerrariBlues

Just looked up times from last year from the Catalunya website. The last test Ferrari participated in was in early Feb. Barrichello wasn't that far off:

F. Alonso Renault (M) 1:14.665
R. Schumacher Williams (M)1:14.679
J. Button BAR (B)1:14.699
M. Gen? Williams (M)1:14.997
R. Barrichello Ferrari (B)1:15.058
F. Montagny Renault (M)1:15.288

Ferrari weren't 1.5 seconds off the pace and of those teams only Renault has improved.

This is encouraging from a season perspective to say the least

Julian won't be convinced until Melbourne and then maybe

His fear of Ferrari is equal to his optimisim for Webber

(Light) Blue, Yellow and Silver at the front .... that's a change for sure

2 weeks to go till practice :bouncec:

It would be worrying if Renault dominated this year but I doubt that to be the case. I think McLaren and BAR will be up there and possibly Williams. Ferrari will be strong too but it depends on how good their Bridgestone tyres are. Toyota are setting good times but read somewhere they are with the old car!

So the Ferraris are faster than what I hoped for but we'd be fooling ourselves if we thought the Ferraris will be seriously slow (I was just being extremely optimistic  )

But still both Renault and McLaren are looking good, again no reason to beleive that Ferrari are sandbagging but Renault and McLaren aren't

Fisichella's best time was made on a long(er) run than both Ferraris and his average time is better too.

I am sure that we will have an exciting start to the season after all those years.

My worry is Williams and all the hype around Webber. They seem to be struggling in the midfield.

Narain has outpaced Tiago on all days. He must be the quickest Indian on wheels (or Tiago may be the slowest Portugese on wheels :ROTFLMAO: )

Barrichello and Schumacher 3rd and 4th fastest. When Schumacher said he wasn't worried he meant it. They'll dominate in Melbourne AGAIN :D
