Rosebrg in second. Alonso back in 3rd.

Hamilton flying, he sets a 1:17.578. Looks like McLaren's prediction of a strong showing in Monaco could be true

Halfway into the first session and the top 10 are: Hamilton, Rosberg, Webber, Barrichello, Alonso, Massa, Button, Nakajima, Raikkonen and Vettel.

Hamilton's lap is impressive. He is over 0.6 seconds faster than second placed Rosberg.

Kubica and Heidfeld have yet to set times! Heidfeld has completed 5 laps without setting a time

Just Bourdais on the track at the moment.

Buemi has covered the most laps so far with 17 laps. He is 17th fastest!

He gets his car back into the pits with smoke coming out of 1 bank. He drove a fair bit on the track. That could be considered dangerous as oil is spilt on the track
