Shinya Nakano is set to shun a big-money offer from Kawasaki and sign for Konica Minolta Honda next season.

Honda have told the 28-year-old Japanese that the ride, which is currently occupied by his countryman Makoto Tamada, is his if he wants it next season, and are waiting on an answer.

Nakano, who is disappointed to have not yet ridden next year's Kawasaki, said:
The delay with the new Kawsaki has made me look at my future and after three years with Kawasaki, I expected more, I have told them it would be difficult to stay. I have a chance with Honda, all I have to say is yes.

Kawasaki Racing team manager, Harald Eckl, has officially confirmed that star rider Shinya Nakano will not be with the team in 2007.

Harald Eckl:
Shinya has decided not to continue with Kawasaki next year, so we are looking at another rider to join our team, alongside Randy de Puniet
Nakano, who has taken two podiums during his three seasons at Kawasaki, looks set to move to a satellite Honda team next season - most probably Konica Minolta Honda, replacing countryman Makoto Tamada.

Understood, sorry, I am just a bit wound up lately....I have only two races left in the season, so things are getting quite tense, and I am trying to juggle racing and my second year varsity exams, work, as well as trying to get my sponsor to sign on again for next year......My mind is exploding.....:axe:

According to autoracing1.com, Camel Yamaha has re-signed Colin Edwards for the 2007 campaign(if I'm not mistaken, it should be on the motogp.com site in the news area.....)

You would be correct Mfer.....

The full story can be found here

Colin Edwards:
I couldn't be happier to be staying with Yamaha for another year, It's no secret that this season we haven't achieved the results we should have had, but in the last few races I feel that things have started to turn around and we hope to finish on a high in Valencia. I couldn't ask for a better team-mate or team, I'm really happy at Yamaha and I can't wait to start working on the new bike!
Davide Brivio, team director of Yamaha's Factory Team:
The good partnership between Colin and Valentino is one of the strongest assets of our team, We think that, for various different reasons, Colin wasn't able to show his full potential this year and that's why we're very glad to have the chance to work again together next year.

Even though the rider lineup will remain the same, it is still to be seen who the teams title sponsor will be, with Camel rumoured to be leaving...[/url]
