My apologies for not getting the qualifying results out quick enough, but trouble at the office....you know the story.....

Honda rookie Casey Stoner clinched the pole position for this weeks grand prix of Qatar, he put in a time of 1'55.683
after having topped both morning sessions.

A last minute dash from Toni Elias managed to get him up to third on the grd, just ahead of Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden.
Fifth place went to youngster Dani Pedrosa who suffered a crash at the end of free practice.

And, for the second successive Grand Prix, world Champion Valentino Rossi will not be starting from the front row of the grid, only managing to come in in sixth place.

Times Qualifying:

1 - Casey Stoner ~ 1'55.683

2 - Loris Capirossi ~ 1'55.721
3 - Toni Elias ~ 1'55.735
4 - Nicky Hayden ~ 1'55.793
5 - Dani Pedrosa ~ 1'56.008
6 - Valentino Rossi ~ 1'56.076
7 - Sete Gibernau ~ 1'56.177
8 - Colin Edwards ~ 1'56.230
9 - Shinya Nakano ~ 1'56.237
10 - Kenny Roberts jr ~ 1'56.272

Some interesting facts before the Grand Prix

~ Casey Stoners Pole time is the fastest time ever set by a motorcycle at the losail circuit

~ Stoner is the Second youngst rider to qualify on pole.

~ The top sixteen riders' qualifying time have all beaten the lap record set by Nicky hayden last year.

~ This is the first time Toni Elias has qualified on the front row of the grid in MotoGP

~ If either Casey Stoner or Dani Pedrosa wins in Qatar, they will become the youngest ever winner of a MotoGP race...

Even though I dont like Rossi very much, I must admit he rode very well to take the win.....and also a great ride by Nicky Hayden......

A very nice result for my team  getting a 3rd and 4th :woohoo:

I actually feel sorry for Casey Stoner, I was really hoping he would get a win this weekend.

Shaping up to be a good championship

It was a good race; thought the ole' Kentucky boy(Hayden) would win, but congrats to Rossi.

In an article recently Stoner:
"The Qatar race was terrible for me because I woke-up knowing it would be impossible to hold-off Valentino and the others, even starting from pole position," Stoner said.
that must suck.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
