Crash.net says
Ducati Marlboro's Loris Capirossi seemed almost angry to have been knocked from the top of the Motegi Friday free practice timesheets by opponents testing qualifying tyres, but was 'without doubt' fastest on race tyres.
Qualifying tyres are a bit of a waste are they not? And by all accounts dangerous!

Dani seems to be struggling again I hope it doesn't rain.

Casey lost the front end again! :?

What if Loris hadn't had that crash at the Catalan GP he'd be in the championship lead and heading toward giving Ducati it's first MotoGP Championship. :?

Nakano helped Nicky by trying a rather uncharacteristic last ditch overtaking manuvre, that was never on.

Dani's prang the other week has written off his title chances, which is a great shame because he has been so consistent this season almost always at the pointy end :?

It's a bit of a mystery! I have three theories two grounded in a plausible reality the other is a bit more far fetched (I prefer the far fetched one).

Theory 1
Sete was 'released' by Daijiro Kato's fatal crash - or by his reaction and following results - carried by a wave of uncharacteristically good results his confidence grew and grew. Allowing him to do incredibly brave things with a bike. The Dr recognising that Sete could only be beaten with the aid of psychology set to work undermining Sete's self-confidence. The plan worked and the genie was put back in the bottle.

Theory 2
The bike works for Loris and Sete doesn't understand it yet! (however it's worth noting that Sete's loss of competivity precedes him joining Ducati - see theory 1)

Theory 3
Daijiro Kato's spirit had some unfinished business and was working with the team and Sete to win the championship. Unfortunately stronger spirits are watching over the Dr so he gave up and is now continuing his journey that began on that fateful day in Suzuka. Leaving Sete to cope with reallity by himself.

PS:
Theory 4
A combination of all the above

On an unrelated subject, is one allowed to sack one's other half for impeding the watching of GP race weekends or is there rules of engagement that allow other halves to make one's life a misery?

I had to watch a recording of it but I didn't know the result so that wasn't so bad. However I am used to watching the 125's and 250's and I wasn't able to this weekend because my partner decided to make it impossible for me to even record it and she doesn't even care that I didn't see it. And the fact that I have every other MotoGP weekend on tape doesn't interest her in the slightest and she didn't even know there was a GP on this weekend and what exactly is a motorcycle?..have I seen one?  Please God give me strength! :?

God gave me the strength to take my 3 children and flee from the infidel. Yay tho we wander thru the valley of darkness, the light of yon Motoer sport on tv draws us close, and shields us from the nonbeliever. FREEDOM TO WATCH IS OURS !!!!!!!!! 8)

As a female I would have to say that even if she (your other half) has no interest, she should respect you enough to either learn about it and might find interest or let you watch or at the very least tape and watch later. She could find herself a hobby so that you can continue to enjoy all forms of motor sport that interest you. You have to learn to negotiate.

When I first met my hubby, I had heard of F1 but that was about it. I had been to watch races at Calder racetrack with Brocky racing etc but had no great interest. In about 1982/83 the races weren't on very often here but when they were, being a night owl I was asked to get the results for my darling. Then he would ask what had happened in the race. At that stage I did not watch t6hem... just got the results, but being a loving caring person I started to watch them so that I could relate the information to my hubby. That was the beginning of my love for F1. Since I "had to" watch I decided I better focus on one driver and then next thing I was totally hooked. Now I am a bigger fan than him.
I started watching the bikes when Doohan was racing and when Rossi first started in 125s I thought that he was a fantastic racer and would be a star of the future. Jeremy thought I was "nutty" at the time but I have been proved right.
