The 800's

Post by <T-K> » Tue Aug 22, 2006 10:00 am

The day after his superb win at Brno, Loris Capirossi makes his track debut with the new 800cc Ducati Desmosedici. Sete Gibernau, also present in the pit garage, had to sit out and watch.

After carrying out a series of tyre tests with the GP6 in the morning, the Italian set to work with the GP7 and completed 28 laps with the new machine, his best being 1m59.6s.

There is also a video out of the 800cc Yamaha being tested....The yamaha sounds a lot like last year's m1, but the duke sounds a lot more higher-revving and more like a pissed off wasp now... not quite as rumbly..

Basically the Yammy sounds like BRRRRR BRRRRR BRRRRR
and the Duke is like GRRRRAAAAARWWWW GRRRAWWWBBBBBMMMM :D

Legendary Formula 1 and Indianapolis engine builder, Ilmor, has raised expectations ahead of its MotoGP debut in next month's Portuguese Grand Prix by claiming to have lapped quicker than the Ducati 800.

The team recently named 34-year-old Garry McCoy as its sole rider in the final two GPs of the year, at Estoril and then Valencia on October 29, before the British company launches a full two-bike team in 2007. McCoy has already tested the 800cc V4 at Albacete and Barcelona in preparation for the team's October 15 race debut.

Ilmor boss Mario Illien:
It's a real bonus for us to have a rider like Garry, who has won in 500cc GPs, to be on the bike for the two wild-card races in Europe," said Ilmor boss Mario Illien.

Gary McCoy :P :P :P :P :D :D :D That's such good news! He belongs in MotoGP showing how a bike is supposed to be riden. On the edge and sideways whenever possible. :P
