Who is Silva ?

Yes, Snowy is correct, Silva is riding in the place of Alex Hofmann, as Hofmann is filling in for Sete Gibernau this weekend....

Rossi very much quicker than anybody else until Randy did a last lap on what I presumed to be qualies. 1.5 secs faster than Loris that is ridicerus! :| Has that happened at all this season? I think not!

Team manager of Repsol Honda, Makoto Tanaka has warned not to read too much into the timesheets since a number of riders chose to fit qualifying tyres one day early - distorting the picture.
The afternoon session was a bit mysterious because it seems like some riders used qualifying tyres and this means it's difficult to read too much into the timesheets
Those confirmed to have used qualifying tyres are fastest man, Valentino Rossi and second fastest Randy de Puniet, while third placed Loris Capirossi claims he was the fastest rider on race tyres. Nevertheless, qualifying tyres don't entirely account for Hayden's position since the championship leader - fastest of all in morning first practice - was one of only three riders that didn't improve in the afternoon....

Pedrosa was fifth fastest in first free practice but slipped to eighth place overall after FP2, despite finding a further 0.417secs
