MAIN EVENT
~~UFC Middleweight Division(185-lbs)
Michael "the Count" Bisping[17-1] vs. Chris "the Crippler" Leben[18-4]......originally scheduled for July 2008, this fight pits the Englishman Bisping, who can cement a claim to a future middleweight title shot(agst. either Anderson Silva or Patrick Cote depending on who wins in UFC 90) and who'll enjoy a tremendous home-field advantage vs. the American Leben, who's looking for some redemption and a chance to move up the 185-lb. ladder.

UFC 90--Cote vs. Silva
Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Ill.
25 October 2008, Spike PPV

Quick off the heels of UFC 89, the UFC brings another action-packed fight card to the fore, this time making its' debut in the Windy City!

UNDERCARD FIGHT
~~(welterweight)Josh "the People's Warrior" Burkman[20-6] vs. Pete "Drago" Sell[7-5]
~~(lightweight)Hermes Franca[19-7] vs. Marcus "Maximus" Aurelio[16-6]
~~(middleweight)Dan Miller[9-1-1] vs. Matt Horwich[24-9-1]
~~(lightweight)Spencer "the King" Fisher[22-4] vs. Shannon Gugerty[11-2]
~~(middleweight)Thales Leites[13-1] vs. Drew "the Massacre" McFedries[7-4]
~~(lightweight)Sean "the Muscle Shark" Sherk[36-3-1] vs. Tyson Griffin[12-1]
~~(heavyweight)Fabricio Werdum[11-3-1] vs. Junior Dos Santos[6-1]
~~(lightweight)Rich "No Love" Clementi[40-12-1] vs. Grey "the Bully" Maynard[6-0-1]

MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHT
UFC Welterweight Division(170-lbs)
Josh "Kos" Koscheck[13-2] vs. Thiago "Pit Bull" Alves[21-4]
Originally slated as Alves vs. Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez, a lower back injury forced Sanchez to withdraw three weeks back; Koscheck was asked if he would accept a fight on such short notice, which he did......the stakes are high for the Pit Bull; a win over Koscheck puts Alves on a collision course early next year agst. current welterweight champion Georges "Rush" St. Pierre.

MAIN EVENT
UFC Middleweight Division(185-lbs)
Challenger........Patrick "the Predator" Cote[14-4]
Champion.........Anderson "the Spider" Silva[22-4]
.......since becoming champion back in October 2006, the Spider has systematically demolished the middleweight division with dominating wins over Rich Franklin, Nate Marquardt, Travis Lutter* and Dan Henderson. Next in line...........Quebecois native Patrick Cote, one of a handful left in the division that can challenge Silva(the others being Ricardo Almeida and Michael Bisping) for the belt at present; the question is can Cote use his eminent striking ability to take the fight to the Spider, or will the Spider add Cote to his list of vanquished opponents?
*--Silva's fight with Lutter was originally scheduled to be a title defense; however, Lutter failed to make weight and the fight became a non-title bout

UFC 91--Silva vs. Cote
Fight Card Results................
(from 25 October 2008)

~~~~UNDERCARD FIGHTS~~~~
~~(lightweight)Burkman vs. Sell; Sell wins by unanimous decision
~~(lightweight)Franca vs. Aurelio; Franca wins by unanimous decision
~~(middleweight)Miller vs. Horwich; Miller wins by unanimous decision
~~(lightweight)Fisher vs. Gugerty; Fisher wins by submission[triangle choke] at 3:56, 3rd round
~~(middleweight)Leites vs. McFedries; Leites wins by submission[rear naked choke] at 1:18, 1st round
~~(lightweight)Sherk vs. Griffin; Sherk wins by unanimous decision
~~(heavyweight)Werdum vs. Dos Santos; Dos Santos wins by KO at 1:18, 1st round
~~(lightweight)Clementi vs. Maynard; Maynard wins by unanimous decision
~~~~MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHT~~~~
~~(welterweight)Koscheck vs. Alves; Alves wins by unanimous decision. In what was described as the best fight of the night, "the Pit Bull" cemented his claim on the next title shot at welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre with his victory over Koscheck. Don't discount Koscheck's loss, though; Kos took the fight with just two weeks notice and put in one h--- of a fight.

~~~MAIN EVENT
...for the UFC Middleweight Championship
Challenger--Patrick "the Predator" Cote
Champion--Anderson "the Spider" Silva
........Silva wins by TKO at 0:39, 3rd round due to a freakish knee injury suffered by Cote; by all accounts, Silva would've likely won by unanimous decision had the fight gone the full 5-rounds but for the first time in recent memory Silva was taken past 2 rounds.
UFC 91--Couture vs. Lesnar
Fight Card
~~~~UNDERCARD FIGHTS~~~~
~~(welterweight)Matt Brown[10-7] vs. Ryan "the Tank Engine" Thomas[13-2]
~~(lightweight)Alvin "Kid" Robinson[10-3] vs. Mark Bocek[5-2]
~~(lightweight)Jeremy "Lil' Heathen" Stephens[15-3] vs. Rafael dos Anjos[11-2]
~~(lightweight)Jorge Gurgel[15-4] vs. Aaron Riley[26-10-1]
~~(welterweight)Dustin Hazelett[13-4] vs. Tamdan "the Barn Cat" McCrory[11-1]
~~(middleweight)Nate "Rock" Quarry[16-2] vs. Demian Maia[9-0]
~~(heavyweight)Gabriel "Napao" Gonzaga[9-3] vs. Josh "Heavy" Hendricks[18-4]

~~~MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHT~~~
~~(lightweight)Kenny "KenFlo" Florian[12-3] vs. Joe "Daddy" Stevenson[34-8].......if it weren't for the Couture/Lesnar fight on this card, this would be the main event; both Florian and Stevenson carry an excellent ground game into this fight(both are black-belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and this fight could easily end by submission on either side. The winner of this fight is likely headed for a title shot in 2009 agst. current UFC Lightweight Champion B.J. Penn, so expect 10/10ths' from both fighters.
~~~MAIN EVENT
UFC Heavyweight Championship(205-lbs. and up)
--Challenger........Brock Lesnar[2-1]
--Champion.........Randy "the Natural" Couture[16-8]
The first of three fights* for the heavyweight title, this fight brings one of the UFC's legends into the Octagon to face one of the UFC's rising stars. Will Lesnar's explosive athleticism and rising ground-n'-pound style bring him the title, or will Couture's wrestling ability and knack for wearing down opponents throughout his fights bring him the belt?
*---the second title fight is btwn. Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Frank Mir for the interim heavyweight title; the winners from that fight and this one will fight for the championship itself.
