Hot on the heels of a successful UFC Fight Night 13 in Denver, the UFC takes its' show north of the border to the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada for UFC-83, Serra/St. Pierre II............here is the fight card for Saturday night's event..........................

UNDERCARD FIGHTS....................................
~~(welterweight)Kuniyoshi Hironaka[11-3] vs. Jonathan Goulet[21-9-1]
~~(heavyweight)Brad Morris[10-2] vs. Cain Velasquez[2-0]
~~(lightweight)Rich "No Love" Clementi[38-12-1] vs. Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout[14-3-1]
~~(middleweight)Ed "Short Fuse" Herman[15-4] vs. Demian Maia[7-0]
~~(middleweight)Jason Day[unkn.] vs. Alan "The Talent" Belcher[11-3]
~~(middleweight)Joe "El Dirte" Doerksen[39-10] vs. Jason MacDonald[20-9]
TELEVISED FIGHTS..............................
~~(lightweight)Mark Bocek[5-1] vs. Mac Danzig[18-4-1]
~~(middleweight)Charles "Chainsaw" McCarthy[7-2] vs. Michael "the Count" Bisping[15-1]
~~(middleweight)Nate "Rock" Quarry[14-2] vs. Kalib Starnes[10-3-1]
****MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHT****
~~(middleweight)Travis "the Serial Killer" Lutter[12-4] vs. Rich "Ace" Franklin[24-3].........this is a redemption fight for both fighters; for Lutter, who lost in what shoulda' been a title bout agst. Anderson "the Spider" Silva last year, its' a chance to put himself back on the map....for Franklin, who suffered a defeat as well to Silva, its' a chance to redeem himself for that loss. The winner of this fight should IMO have a good shot at a possible title bout w/the Spider down the road
*****MAIN EVENT*****
~~(welterweight)Matt "the Terror" Serra[16-4] vs. Georges "Rush" St. Pierre[15-2]......their first fight was a three-round decision for Serra, but GSP is riding a lot of momentum off of his title-winning bout agst. then-champion Matt Hughes back in December; the winner of this fight will possess a unified UFC welterweight belt, since both are current champions in that weight class

UFC 84--Ill Will
Fight Card, 24 May 2008.............................

~~As the event title portends, there's plenty of ill will floating about the Octagon as UFC 84 approaches with lots of bad, bad blood in the event's two main bouts.................

Undercard Fights.......................................
~~(heavyweight)Christian Wellisch[9-2] vs. Shane Carwin[8-0]
~~(welterweight)Jason Tan[5-1] vs. Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim[9-0-1]
~~(welterweight)Joe Koppenhaver[6-1] vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida[9-2]
~~(lightweight)Rich "No Love" Clementi[39-12-1] vs. Terry Etim[10-1]
~~(light heavyweight)Rameau "The African Assassin" Sokoudjou[4-2] vs. Kazuhiro "Kaz" Nakamura[11-7]
~~(middleweight)Ivan Salaverry[12-5-1] vs. Rousimar Palhares[16-1]
~~(light heavyweight)Thiago Silva[11-0] vs. Antonio Mendes[14-2]
~~(light heavyweight)Wilson Gouveia[10-4] vs. Goran Reljic[7-0]
Main Undercard Fights....................................
~~(light heavyweight)Tito Ortiz[16-5-1] vs. Lyoto Machida[12-0]. In what could be the final fight for the UFC's original enfant terrible, Ortiz, who has held a long-running hate-fest towards UFC major-domo and president Dana White, looks to go out on top with a win vs. kickboxing specialist Machida
~~(light heavyweight)Wanderlei "the Axe Murderer" Silva[31-8-1] vs. Keith "the Dean of Mean" Jardine[13-4-1]. Although Anderson "the Spider" Silva rules the Light Heavyweight class in the UFC at the moment, there is a crowded waiting list of fighters who'd like to take a swing at Silva and both Wanderlei and Jardine are amongst them; this bout will go a ways' towards' settling' the pecking order in the division

MAIN EVENT.....................................
~~(lightweight)"The Prodigy" B.J. Penn[13-4-1] vs. Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk[35-2-1]. This fight has "ill will" written all over it and for good reason. On the one hand, there is the former UFC lightweight champion, Sherk, who lost his belt due to a very controversial failed drug test[one, BTW, Sherk successfully appealed last year] and is looking for redemption in the sport. On the other hand, there's the current champion, Penn, who believes that Sherk cheated and was caught red-handed. Throw in all the public comments that both sides have thrown in over the past couple of months and you have one very toxic brew within the Octagon, one that will have to be settled in the Octagon this coming Saturday.

~~Koppenhaver vs. Yoshida; Yoshida wins by submission[anaconda choke]at 0:56, 1st round
~~Clementi vs. Etim; Clementi wins by unanimous decision
~~Sokoudjou vs. Nakamura; Sokoudjou wins by TKO at 5:00, 1st round
~~Salaverry vs. Palhares; Palhares wins by submission[arm bar] at 2:36, 1st round
~~T. Silva vs. Mendes; Silva wins by TKO[strikes] at 2:24, 1st round
~~Gouveia vs. Reljic; Reljic wins by TKO at 3:15, 2nd round

~~Ortiz vs. Machida; Machida continues his unbeaten record in MMA with a unanimous decision over Ortiz
~~W. Silva vs. Jardine; Wandy ends his three-loss streak with a convincing KO at 0:36 of the 1st round over Jardine

MAIN EVENT....................
~~Penn vs. Sherk; Penn's first defense of the UFC lightweight belt was a success at "the Prodigy" scored a TKO victory over Sherk; reports are that Penn is possibly looking at a rematch w/current welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre sometime either late this year or early next year

UFC 85--Bedlam, from the O2 Arena in London, England
7 June 2008
Fight Card..............

......going into UFC 85, one could say that the main event(Hughes/Alves) was the conclusion of one strange, star-crossed journey. When UFC85 was announced, the main event was originally slated to be Chuck "the Iceman" Liddell vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.....unfortunately, Rua had to withdraw due to injury, so they paired Liddell w/veteran UFC light heavyweight Rashad Evans.....then, both Liddell and Evans withdrew due to injury, prompting UFC officials to have to search far and wide for a main event draw, which they finally did(see MAIN EVENT for fight listing)

Undercard Fights..................................
~~(heavyweight)Antoni Hardonk[6-4] vs. Eddie "the Manic Hispanic" Sanchez[10-1]
~~(welterweight)Paul Taylor[8-3-1] vs. Jess "the Joker" Liauden[12-9]
~~(light heavyweight)Luiz "Banha" Cane[8-1] vs. Jason "the Punisher" Lambert[23-7]
~~(welterweight)Roan Carneiro[12-6] vs. Kevin Burns[6-1]
~~(lightweight)Matt Wiman[9-3] vs. Thiago Tavares[17-1]
~~(middleweight)Jorge "El Conquistador" Rivera[15-6] vs. Martin "the Hitman" Kampmann[12-1]

Televised Undercard Fights..................
~~(heavyweight)Fabricio Werdum[10-3-1] vs. Brandon "the Truth" Vera[8-1]
~~(middleweight)Nate "the Great" Marquardt[29-7-1] vs. Thales Leites[12-1]
~~(welterweight)Marcus "the Irish Hand Grenade" Davis[19-4] vs. Mike "Quick" Swick[11-2]
~~(middleweight)Michael "the Count" Bisping"[16-1] vs. Jason "Dooms" Day[17-5]
--of these fights, the fight to watch IMO is that of Davis/Swick; both have solid credentials in the UFC's welterweight class and whoever wins this fight could make a case for a title shot agst. GSP later in the year or in 2009(not counting the Hughes/Alves fight and its' impact on the welterweight class).

MAIN EVENT..............................
~~(welterweight)Matt Hughes[43-6] vs. Thiago "Pit Bull" Alves[20-4]. Even though the top of the UFC welterweight class is dominated by current champion Georges "Rush" St. Pierre, there's still a bit of a logjam as to who should get a title shot agst. GSP; both Hughes and Alves can make solid cases for a title shot each w/a win, especially Alves, who will be in his first main event within the UFC

UFC 85--Bedlam(O2 Arena, London, England)
Fight Card Results(fr. SA, 7 June 2008)....................

~~Hardonk vs. Sanchez; Hardonk wins by TKO at 4:15, 2nd round
~~Taylor vs. Liaudin; Taylor wins by split decision
~~Cane vs. Lambert; Cane wins by TKO at 2:07, 1st round
~~Carneiro vs. Burns; Burns wins by submission[triangle choke] at 3:50, 2nd round
~~Wiman vs. Tavares; Wiman wins by KO at 1:57, 2nd round
~~Rivera vs. Kampmann; Kampmann wins by submission[guillotine choke] at 2:44, 1st round
~~Werdum vs. Vera; Werdum wins by TKO at 4:40, 1st round
~~Bisping vs. Day; Bisping wins by TKO at 3:42, 1st round

~~Marquardt vs. Leites; in one of the more controversial bouts of the night, Thales Lietes wins over Nate Marquardt by split decision....the reason for the controversy? During the bout referee Herb Dean docked Marquardt 2 points(1 in the 1st round, 1 in the 2nd round) for strikes to Thales' head that looked to be aimed at the back of Thales' head(in fact, both times the strikes were at the sides of Thales' head and his shoulders.....     )

~~Davis vs. Swick; with this win and Hughes' loss in the main event, the Irish Hand Grenade may have booked his ticket for a shot at UFC welterweight champion Georges "Rush" St. Pierre later this year(Davis won by unanimous decision over Swick)

~~(MAIN EVENT)Hughes vs. Alves.........like Davis, the Pit Bull(Alves) may have booked his own ticket to face GSP in a title shot down the road, dominating the fight agst. 2-time champion Hughes(Alves won by TKO at 1:10, 2nd round)

One of the more interesting fight cards in recent memory is on tap tomorrow evening with The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale with two lead fights on the card....one fight's winner will receive $100,000 and a signed UFC contract, while the second fight's winner will likely remain in the UFC.

The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale
The Pearl at the Palms, Las Vegas, Nevada
21 June 2008(live, Spike TV)

Undercard Fights..................................
~~(middleweight)Rob "Monster" Yundt[7-1] vs. Rob Kimmons[0-0]
~~(middleweight)Tim Credeur[10-4] vs. Cale Yarbrough[0-0]*
~~(middleweight)Jeremy "Gumby" Horn[88-17-5] vs. Dean "The Boogeyman" Lister[10-5]
~~(welterweight)Matt Brown[9-6] vs. Matt Arroyo[3-1]
~~(middleweight)Marvin "The Beastman" Eastman[15-7-1] vs. Drew McFedries[6-3]
~~(welterweight)Josh "The People's Warrior" Burkman[20-5] vs. Dustin Hazelett[12-5]
~~(middleweight)Matt Riddle[0-0] vs. Dante Rivera[10-2]*
~~(lightweight)Spencer "the King" Fisher[21-3] vs. Jeremy "Lil' Heathen" Stephens[15-2]
*--consolation fights from TUF 7

Main Undercard Fight........................
~~(welterweight)Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez[21-3] vs. Luigi Fioravanti[14-3] Just as with the recent Davis/Swick fight from UFC 85, whoever wins this bout should have a decent shot at a title fight either later this year or sometime in 2009

Main Events.........................
~~(middleweight)Amir Sadollah[1-0] vs. C.B. Dollaway[7-2] The finalists from TUF 7, the winner of this middleweight bout will receive $100,000 in cash and a signed contract with the UFC, but these two cats' have fought with skill, pride and honor throughout TUF 7, so IMO both should get UFC contracts.
~~(middlewieght)Evan Tanner[34-8] vs. Kendall "da Spider" Grove[10-5]. For these two fighters, the game is simple; the winner likely stays in the UFC to fight another day.....the loser has likely fought his last UFC-sanctioned fight, if the rumor mill is to be believed.

Going in, The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale contained an action-packed fight card........they weren't kidding! :) :)

****UNDERCARD FIGHTS****
~~Yundt vs. Kimmons; Kimmons wins by submission[guillotine choke] at 3:58, 1st round
~~Credeur vs. Yarbrough.......fight cancelled due to a positive drug test for Credeur[traces of Adderall were found in his system]
~~Horn vs. Lister; Lister wins by submission[guillotine choke] at 3:52, 1st round
~~Brown vs. Arroyo; Brown wins by TKO[strikes] at 3:52, 1st round
~~Eastman vs. McFedries; McFedries wins by TKO[strikes] at 1:08, 1st round
~~Burkman vs. Hazelett; Hazelett wins by submission[armbar] at 4:46, 2nd round
~~Riddle vs. Rivera; Rivera wins by unanimous decision
~~Fisher vs. Stephens; Fisher wins by unanimous decision

***MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHT***
~~Sanchez vs. Fioravanti........it would appear that the Nightmare is back; a combination head-kick and knee to the midsection wobbled Fioravanti and it was lights out; Sanchez wins by TKO[strikes] at 4:07, 3rd round
****ULTIMATE FIGHTER 7 FINALE****
~~Sadollah vs. Dollaway.........after 32 rising UFC competitors in the middleweight division began their 3-month journey on TUF 7, Richmond, Va.'s Amir Sadollah stands as the Ultimate Fighter for this season, winning via armbar submission over Tucason, Az.'s C.B. Dollaway at 3:02 of the 1st round.......
****MAIN EVENT****
~~Tanner vs. Grove.........going into this fight, the rumor mill was abuzz that whoever lost this fight was likely out of the UFC for the time being; a split decision victory for "da Spider" Grove over the former middleweight champion Tanner, using his striking skills to overpower the older veteran fighter

With the 4th of July on the horizon, there will be fireworks aplenty' at the Mandalay Bay Events Center at UFC 86: Griffin vs. Jackson.

UNDERCARD FIGHTS............................
~~(lightweight)Corey "the Real Deal" Hill[2-0] vs. Justin Buchholz[8-2]
~~(lightweight)Melvin Guillard[39-8-3] vs. Dennis Siver[11-5]
~~(lightweight)Jorge Gurgel[16-3] vs. Cole "Magrino" Miller[13-3]
~~(heavyweight)Gabriel Gonzaga[8-3] vs. Justin "The Insane One" McCully[8-3-2]
~~(lightweight)Tyson Griffin[11-1] vs. Marcus "Maximus" Aurelio[14-5]
~~(welterweight)Josh "Kos" Koscheck[13-2] vs. Chris "Lights Out" Lytle[35-15-4]
MAIN UNDERCARD FIGHTS........................
~~(lightweight)Joe "Daddy" Stevenson[33-8] vs. Gleison Tibau[27-4]. This is an interesting fight for both fighters; for Stevenson, its' a chance to reassert himself within the 155-lb. class......for Tibau, its' a shot at moving up the ladder towards a future championship fight

~~(middleweight)Patrick "the Predator" Cote[13-4] vs. Ricardo "Big Dog" Almeida[9-2]. On most other UFC fight cards, this match would be a main event fight, that's how good this fight could be. Both fighters are in the top-5 or top-6 of the 185-lb. class and both are great MMA fighters in their own right; Cote is a renowned striker and ground-'n'-pound fighter, while Almeida is considered one of the best Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighters in MMA right now and both have a legitimate shot at challenging current 185-lb. champion Anderson Silva.

MAIN EVENT................
UFC Light Heavyweight Championship Fight........................
Challenger........Forrest Griffin[15-4]
Champion.........Quentin "Rampage" Jackson[27-6]
Title or no title, this main event is worth the price of admission. Both fighters have similar fighting styles in that they are both stand-up fighters, but they do have differences......Griffin is an excellent submission specialist while Jackson is just a brutally strong man(...don't believe me.....YouTube Jackson's knockout of Ricardo Arona from a few years back; what happened is that Arona had Jackson in a triangle choke on the ground....Jackson picked up Arona and power-slammed Arona to the mat, knocking Arona out......   ). As long as Jackson keeps this fight standing, he should hold on to the belt, but if Griffin can take the fight to the ground, he could have Jackson in big trouble.

***MAIN PRELIMINARY FIGHTS***
~~Stevenson vs. Tibau; going into this fight, all eyes were on "Joe Daddy", wondering if he could propel himself back up to the fore in the 155-lb. division, which he did, dominating the fight and eventually winning by submission[choke] at 2:57 of the 2nd round
~~Cote vs. Almeida; by far, the most tactical fight of the evening....neither could get a clear advantage over the other; Cote won a split decision victory over Almeida

***MAIN EVENT***
There is a new champion within the 205-lb division.............
Going into the fight, the odds were heavily in favor of Quentin "Rampage" Jackson holding onto his light-heavyweight belt over challenger Forrest Griffin. However, things didn't quite go Rampage's way, as The Ultimate Fighter 1 champion, Griffin, took the fight immediately to Jackson, not letting him get into a rhythm throughout the five-round championship fight. Using a combination of takedowns, strikes and leg kicks, Griffin fought his way to the belt, winning by unanimous decision(2 judges scored the fight 48-46 for Griffin while a 3rd judge scored it 48-47 for Griffin). IMO, this fight was well worth the small chunk of change it cost to watch on PPV.
