Formula 1 Testing commenced today at Monza and Silverstone.
At Monza, Ferrari, Sauber, BAR Honda and Toyota were present. BAR Honda and Toyota opted to test at Monza today and skip
Silverstone due to the bad weather. BAR Test driver Anthony Davidson set the fastest time of the day with a 1:21.887. Marc
Gene (Ferrari) and Enrique Bernoldi (BAR) covered the most number of laps with 127. Ferrari ran a tyre evaluation programme, BAR
Honda ran an aerodynamic evaluation test as well as tyre evaluation while Sauber tested a new aeropackage as well as tyres. Ferrari
and Sauber continue testing here tomorrow. The other teams may join depending on the weather at Silverstone.
At Silverstone, 5 teams took part on the first day of testing. The Renault team decided to skip testing due to bad weather while
BAR Honda and Toyota opted for testing at Monza. Testing was cut short as heavy rain fell mid-afternoon. Pedro de la Rosa set
the fastest time of the day with a 1:19.729. He also covered the most number of laps. The teams were concentrating on setup and
tyre evaluation for the British Grand Prix.
