03 March: Pink gets the party started - Red Bull Racing

Full throttle for the hottest ticket of the year

Red Bull Racing roared onto Melbourne’s party circuit last night – launching the world’s raciest rock chick at the hottest `ticket’ of the year.

In an action-charged spectacular, Red Bull’s first ever racing drivers helped Grammy-award winner, Pink into the driver’s seat…and into gear - in a full-throttle celebration set to put this year’s Grand Prix in the fast track.

Painting the town Pink, the dynamic young star and her band, launched Red Bull’s new racers - led by Scot and 13 times Grand Prix winner, David Coulthard.

Famous Olympians rubbed shoulders with the biggest names in Aussie showbiz in the countdown to an impressive Grand Prix extravaganza yet.

The atmosphere buzzed as a giant Red Bull movie screen opened revealing a specially designed moving race track stage.

“I got to ride in a racing car,” cheered the award-winning musician, urging revellers to “get this party going.”

Only hours after a crew of 50 specialists, completed their ten day transformation of old Shed 14 in Melbourne’s trendy Docklands, 1300 guests were making their way up the red carpet to the most electrifying party on the Grand Prix calendar.

A spectacular `smoke and mirrors’ special effects lobby kicked off a party atmosphere as corks popped on more than 2000 bottles of the finest French champagne.

Dynamic Sydney-based Creative Director, Tony Assness – commissioned to “turn this into the party of the decade,” had the confidence to take risks – showcasing a visual and special effects spectacular as unique as his work at the launches of Moulin Rouge and Fox Studios.

Using fifty kilometres of electrical cabling, his specialists powered 130 of the most powerful lights on earth – putting a unique Grand Prix party into the international spotlight.
