2 February: Testing at the "Ricardo Tormo” in Valencia continued today with 6 teams at the track. McLaren's Alex Wurz driving the MP4/19 set the fastest time of the day with a time of 1:09.201. Second fastest was Fernando
Alonso driving the R25 setting a time of 1:09.992 with teammate Giancarlo Fisichella 3rd fastest just over a tenth behind. Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber continued testing with the new Williams FW27 setting the 4th and 6th times respectively while Takuma Sato driving the BAR007 was 6th fastest and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen in the MP4/20 was 7th. Rubens Barrichello tested the F2004 M for the first time setting the 10th fastest time of the day with a time of 1:11.374 The BAR team also tested British Formula Three driver James Rossiter and F3000 driver South African Alan Van der Merwe as part of their young driver programme. There were a total of 6 red flags during the test session including two caused by Ralf Schumacher in the Toyota, 1 by Kimi Raikkonen going off into the gravel and 1 by each of the Renault drivers. Testing continues tomorrow.
