30 January: Testing at the Catalunya Circuit outside Barcelona concluded today with Ferrari and Sauber. Luca Badoer in the F2004 set the fastest time again with Michael Schumacher in the F2004 M in second and Jacques Villeneuve in the C24 Sauber in third. Jacques Villeneuve went off the track just before the end of the session but he was unharmed. He said "Today we mainly concentrated on aerodynamic tests and assessed several different front wings, and were able to gather quite a lot of useful data and information. Of course, I'm disappointed that I went off track at our penultimately scheduled lap, but at least it was just before the finish of today, so we didn't lose much valuable time." Ferrari's next scheduled test is at the Valencia circuit from the 2nd of February. Sauber returns to the track on the 8th of February at the Jerez circuit with two C24 cars. The next scheduled Formula 1 test at the Catalunya circuit will be from the 15th to the 18th of February where at least 7 of the 10 F1 teams will be in action.
